PROJECT REGIONS

Westcoast Sicily
Colourful Moments Projects West Sicily: A vision for the future
(Film location e.g. for Indiana Jones and Ocean's Twelve, artistic work e.g. by Robert Wilson and Philipp Glass).

The west coast of Sicily is known as a unique part of the island that combines tradition and modernity, nature and culture in an extraordinary harmony. The West Coast Sicily projects aim to transform this area through innovative approaches and sustainable concepts into a forward-looking region that combines history, culture, art and technology.
Westcoast Sicily
A region of historical wealth and natural beauty
Western Sicily is characterised by the diversity of its landscapes: from the endless beaches of San Vito Lo Capo to the rolling hills and vineyards of the interior, from the fascinating salt pans of Marsala to the medieval town of Erice. Trapani, the ‘city between two seas’, is the gateway to the Egadi Islands and a starting point for exploring ancient sites such as Segesta and Selinunte. The region has experienced numerous cultures over the centuries - Phoenicians, Greeks, Arabs, Celts, Normans, Spaniards - and reflects this history in its architecture, art and gastronomy.

Colourful Moments Projects Central Spain:
The Extremadura - A paradise for nature, culture
Extremadura
(Film location e.g. for ‘Game of Thrones’, artistic work e.g. by Wolf Vostell, Happening and Fluxus artists)

Extremadura is strategically located between major metropolises: around 230 km from Lisbon, 270 km from Madrid and 300 km from the Mediterranean. The region is easily accessible thanks to the airports in Cáceres and Badajoz, a well-developed rail network and modern motorways.
Extremadura
Diverse landscapes and natural wealth
The region impresses with its variety of landscapes:
Northern mountains: In the north, the Torreón rises to 2,400 metres, surrounded by unspoilt mountain landscapes.
Central region: The characteristic dehesas - extensive pastures with holm oaks - turn into a sea of wildflowers in spring.
Southern flatlands: Fertile plains used for growing tomatoes, rice, tobacco, peppers, grapes and cereals.
With two important rivers, the Tagus and the Guadiana, Extremadura offers exceptional water resources. The La Serena reservoir, the second largest in Europe, creates an impressive coastal landscape with over 2,000 kilometres of freshwater beaches. In addition to water sports, natural pools and waterfalls invite you to swim.
A paradise for flora and fauna
The region is home to an extraordinary variety of plants and animals:
Flora: fragrant lavender, colourful irises, orchids, peonies and rock roses impress plant lovers. In spring, the dehesas offer a spectacular display of white, yellow and purple colours.
Culinary wild plants: Wild asparagus, white truffles, sweet madroños and aromatic herbs such as mint are appreciated by locals and connoisseurs alike.
Fauna: Extremadura is a paradise for bird lovers. 30% of the area is protected, with habitats for 300 bird species, including rare species such as griffon vultures and black storks.

The vision of the Colourful Moments projects in western Sicily and central Spain
The projects include innovative construction and refurbishment projects that focus on sustainability and the preservation of cultural heritage. The planned initiatives are diverse:
Reactivation of historic villages and townhouses: historic buildings are being renovated to improve their energy efficiency, villages are being revitalised and transformed into modern living and working spaces. Highly efficient materials and design developments will be utilised.
Ecological new builds: Themed villages such as the ‘Garden Villages’ combine modern design with sustainable concepts.
Technology and innovation: The use of state-of-the-art IT solutions (Apple technologies), sensor technology (e.g. forest fire protection) and intelligent water management systems form the basis for environmentally friendly and efficient living.
Sustainable agriculture: Projects in solar agriculture and innovative approaches to food production promote self-sufficiency and strengthen the regional economy.

The two regions are not only of exceptional natural beauty, but also centres for future innovation and sustainability. The Colorful Moments projects combine these elements to create a sustainable, future-proof way of life in harmony with nature.
